Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft is a small cultural venue in the Sussex village of Ditchling. Through a dynamic programme of free engagement outside the museum and village, DMAC now reaches in excess of 30,000 visitors with ambitious plans for growth. This post, funded by Arts Council England’s Museum Resilience Fund, is intended to build on this success while enabling the Director to focus on the development of a Phase II capital project for long term sustainability.
As a member of the Management Team of the small museum staff, the successful candidate will collaborate with all colleagues and members of the Board of Trustees to identify funding sources and to develop a fundraising strategy.
The successful candidate will be proactive in working closely with colleagues outside of the museum on joint funding projects including with Visit Ditchling and Culture East Sussex. The post-holder will also be able to work independently using their considerable experience to write successful funding applications and associated budgets, and will take responsibility for the monitoring and evaluation of these projects. The post requires a candidate who equally enjoys the building and nurturing of relationships, has the strategic thinking to make quick and substantial progress in this area of the museum’s business, and has the rigour required to do detailed bid-writing and project delivery.
This is a full-time position on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2018.
Opportunity to work remotely for part of the week.
