Arts Jobs: Gallery Co-ordinator ** deadline 5 Jun 2016 ** ONCA Gallery, Brighton

General:
- Manage the day to day running of the gallery
- Coordinate and manage a team of volunteers, including ongoing recruitment
- Coordinate the installation and deconstruction of exhibitions, including any painting/repair work
- Ensure all gallery activities are curated to an exceptional standard
- Ensure all visitors in the gallery are dealt with sensitively and politely
- Manage data capture and contribute to evaluation for each event and exhibition
- Be available as a secondary key holder for the gallery
- Ensure all Health & Safety issues are adhered to
- Maintain ONCA’s ethical premise as an environmental charity
Marketing and Communications:
- Support all fundraising drives, and help to grow and manage our donor network
- Contribute to audience development and inclusion strategies
- Work with the Operations Manager to ensure all marketing and communications are regularly updated.
- Lead on marketing/ PR campaigns for individual exhibitions and events
- Write and distribute press releases and build press relationships
- Manage the info@onca.org.uk email address, fielding enquiries where possible whilst providing a professional, organized and approachable public face for the gallery
Finance:
- Achieve and build on rental income targets for the Gallery
- Achieve and build on sales targets for the ONCA shop
- Maintain sales records for all gallery activity
- Manage donations from exhibitions, events and workshops
- Provide fortnightly financial reports to Operations Manager
- Maintain figures for the sales and rental income.
Personal Specification
Skills Required (essential):
- A passion for arts and ecology
- Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading a team of volunteers
- Project management experience
- Knowledge and experience of arts and venue management
- Arts marketing experience
- An excellent understanding of social media
- A commitment to developing accessibility and inclusion in the arts
- Basic book-keeping experience
- IT proficiency
Skills Required (desirable):
- Sales experience
- Arts production experience
- Knowledge of design software (Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Experience using WordPress or similar CMSs
- Experience using Mailchimp or similar online software
Hours: 37.5 hours a week (possible job share). Wednesday – Sunday
Salary £15k-20k
