Call for volunteers to help engage children with art in Brighton and Hove

Maxine Allan sent us this request for volunteers to help engage children with art in Brighton and Hove….

Artyfacts delivers unique art classes to primary school children in Brighton and Hove. Classes are offered in 4 different Primary schools on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 5 pm .

I am looking for volunteers who are available to help on one to two afternoons a week and that are interested in gaining teaching experience and experience working with children.

I have 20 years teaching experience, I am a qualified Art Therapist and an Artist, I can provide D.B.S checks and invaluable teaching experience.
In return, you would have to show commitment and punctuality whilst working in the classes with other volunteers. Each class has approx. 20 children and there is a child to adult ratio of 6 children.

I require the volunteers to arrive 20 mins before class starts to help set up the venue on the day and help with the art activity for an hour and a half and after class to help clean the art materials.

If you are interested in the position, commitment is important for the consistency of the art classes and for children to get to know you . Two terms are required if you want to receive a reference for future employment / university ect .

Please visit my website to find out more and let me know what days you are available to help :Monday, Tuesday ,Thursday or Friday?
Please feel free to call me if you need any more information.
Thank you
