Art Show: Wave After Wave – Louise Chavannes ** 6-18 Jun 2015 ** Hop Gallery, Lewes
New works by Louise exploits the ferocity and drama of waves and the beauty and colour therein. Portraying her love and respect of the ocean reflecting memories of a childhood spent on the Northumbrian Coast and a lifetime relationship with the sea as a walker, swimmer and more recently a surfer. Using a limited palette of heavily textured watercolour and techniques both explored over years.
Exhibited both nationally and internationally over twenty years, receiving the Royal Watercolour Society award for technique at Bankside Gallery, London in 2012. Her paintings are held in worldwide collections.
