Opportunity for East Sussex & Brighton based artists, Outside In
Outside In – a project based at Pallant House Gallery in Chichester which provides a platform for those facing a barrier to the art world due to mental health issues, disability, health or social circumstance – are now inviting East Sussex and Brighton based artists to submit work for possible inclusion in an exhibition as part of Brighton’s HOUSE Festival.
Work submitted can be in any media, but artists must have an Outside In online gallery and be living within East Sussex or Brighton (anyone with a BN postcode). Each artist is able to submit up to two works for selection. The selectors will bear in mind the overall HOUSE theme of edge, shift and marginality when looking at the works online for selection.
To coincide with our call out for submissions, we will be holding a number of Surgery Days throughout the county in February to help artists who need some support to submit work and create an online gallery.
Confirmed Surgery Day dates so far include:
Thursday 5 February – at Towner Gallery in Eastbourne
Friday 13 February – at Hastings Museum
Monday 16 February – at Brighton and Hove Foyer
Friday 20 February – at Crowborough Community Centre
Each sessions is 45 minutes long, and you will be supported to photograph your work, write an artist statment and submit work to the HOUSE exhibition if you would like to.
If you would like to book a place on one of these Surgery Days please contact Hannah Whitlock by calling 01243 770845 or emailing h.whitlock@pallant.org.uk
It is free to submit work, and the deadline for submissions to the HOUSE exhibition is 5pm, Friday 27 February.
