26 February 2016. Cass Art, a major national supplier of artist’s materials, opened a new shop in Brighton yesterday, and said they would help develop the local art community by helping sponsor community events, arranging art workshops and with give-aways of art materials worth £40 to the first 1,000 customers who spend £10 or more at a public launch on 19-20 March.
Shop manager for Cass Art in Brighton, Stuart Bassett, invited artists to “open a dialogue” and submit ideas for sponsorship of community art projects (see contact below). Also proposed are art workshops given by renowned figures in the art world, such as Welsh paint maker Michael Harding.
“This is our 10th shop in the UK and our most exciting new store opening yet,” says Mark Cass, CEO and Founder.
Cass opened in London 30 years ago, and has since opened shops in Glasgow, Bristol and Poole and now Brighton.
Marketing manager Charlotte said : “Cass offers value, from entry level to professional artists.”
Important brands include Cass Art own branded paper, pigments and brushes, Golden Acrylics, Windsor&Newton and Michael Harding oil paint.
Marketing assistant Ashley told us that all the staff at Cass Art shops are artists.
Cass Art listened to feedback from artists, who worried about the yellowish tint when traditional watercolour is digitally scanned, to create the brightest white watercolour paper.
