‘Radical Craft: Alternative Ways of Making’ combines Outside In’s fourth triennial open art exhibition and Craftspace’s touring exhibitions programme. It will showcase UK creativity by artists who define themselves as facing barriers to the art world for reasons including health, disability, social circumstance or isolation, and who have submitted their work through the Outside In website. The craft works selected through this open call out will be displayed alongside pieces by historically renowned and invited contemporary Outsider and self-taught artists, focusing on the imagination and creativity of those facing barriers to the art world from the perspective of craft, making, materiality and tacit skill. The exhibition will launch at Pallant House Gallery, marking Outside In’s tenth birthday, before touring nationally.
