Call for Artists: House Festival 2016 ** Brighton and Hove
HOUSE 2016 invites outline proposals from artists based in the South East region, including London, for commissioning opportunities to be realised for HOUSE 2016, starting April 30th, for 6 weeks.
HOUSE is Brighton & Hove’s annual visual arts festival concerned with the commissioning of new work in partnership with Brighton Festival. HOUSE utilises domestic and unusual spaces, producing a curated visual arts programme during Brighton Festival.
The brief is open to works in any medium, to be located in domestic, public realm and other locations across the city. Proposals are sought which make a point of connection with a major new work by the Invited Artist for HOUSE 2016, and respond to the curatorial theme of ‘Home’. The theme connects with that of Brighton Festival who in 2016 will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
There is a commissioning budget of up to a maximum of £5000 dependent on the strength of the proposal, to include artist fee, materials, labour, expenses, installation and technical costs.
