Does making help you think creatively?

CALL FOR ENTRIES
Exhibition opportunity at the Curious Projects exhibition space, for our Winter show:
‘Thinking / Making’
————
Deadline: 1 November 2015
————
Following the success of the Thinking/Drawing exhibition last year, Curious Projects is inviting artists to submit maquettes for our ‘Thinking/Making’ exhibition.
Rather than finished work, we are looking for three-dimensional ‘sketches’, models and maquettes, made as part of your creative thinking process.
This could be a kind of ‘making’ that you use purely as a thinking tool and/or as an aid to making actual work.
For this show, the 27 window panes of the gallery will be transformed into display boxes showing the selected entries.
Rather than artistic ability, they will be selected on how well they illustrate the use of three-dimensional making as an idea-generating tool and an aid to the creative process.
There will be an Preview evening with drinks, the exhibition will be widely publicised and a record of the show will be kept on our website.
Free to enter, there is NO submission fee (The selected artists will be asked to participate £8 towards the cost of making the boxes).
Exhibition dates will be:
Saturday 5 Dec 2015 – Friday 5 Feb 2016

ABOUT CURIOUS PROJECTS:
Curious Projects is a small artist-run curated space that exhibits ambitious sculptural and installation work. We aim to support artistic practices which involve ‘making’ within a contemporary critical framework. Previously a shop window, the space is situated in an indoor Edwardian shopping arcade in central Eastbourne, incongruously nestled between a nail salon, a florist and a palm reader. We curate five shows a year and are particularly interested in work that could provide fuel for discussions on the interplay (or perhaps disjunction) between making and thinking.
