Museums at Night, the UK’s festival of after-hours events at museums and galleries, next explodes into life on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2015.
Twice a year we at Culture24 invite all UK museums, galleries and heritage sites to throw open their doors after hours to showcase their treasures in unexpected ways. It is a social as well as a learning experience, where visitors can get involved, delve deeper into fascinating subjects and perhaps enjoy a cocktail or two with friends.
Tickets are available for 2015 October festival from June 2015. Museums at Night updates their website 24/7 with the latest listings, events are added right up to the festival week – just click through to the venue website to book tickets.
Co-ordinated by non-profit cultural publishing organisation Culture24, Museums at Night is an opportunity for the cultural and heritage sector to come together around a single, simple campaign that is attractive to venues, audiences and the media.
If you need any help during the festival please contact Nick Stockman on 01273 623279 or nick@culture24.org.uk or Rosie Clarke on 01272 623336 or rosie@culture24.org.uk.
If you have a query regarding a specific event it’s often best to contact the venue direct. Please go to the search box, find your event and click through to the venue’s contact details.
To everyone involved in the festival; venues and visitors we hope you have a wonderful time!
Museums at Night ties in with the European campaign, La Nuit Des Musées, and takes place on the weekend nearest to 18 May, International Museums Day.
The festival has grown rapidly since Culture24 took it over in 2009, with over 500 participating venues, 700 events and 100,000 visitors in 2014. The BBC covered the festival in 2014, led by an hour-long programme on the Saturday night hosted by Will Gompertz.
