The second show at the new No Walls Gallery at Church Street is Hello Cheeky, the first solo show by Hattie Stewart.
‘Hello Cheeky’ is a fun, playful phrase concocted from the mind of Hattie Stewart six years ago to encapsulate the feeling behind her spirited, comical and at times mischievous work.
From cheerful characters with dark, sinister yet subtle undertones to the art of ‘Doodle-Bombing’ – a practice part satire and part adoration displayed by drawing over the covers of famous magazine publications like Playboy and The Face – she turns the banal into the abstract and the mundane into the magical.
A summarisation of all things Hattie – ‘Hello Cheeky’ will invite you to see brand new doodle bombs and a selection of new illustrations for the first time and indulge in the colourful, tongue – in – cheek nature of Hatties’ work.
