Art on show in Brighton & Hove and Sussex

Paul Tash Ostrer – Reflections ** 18 – 31 Jan 2014 ** Naked Eye Gallery, Hove

Paul Tash Ostrer is presenting new oil on canvas exhibition ‘Reflections‘.

In this exhibition, Paul is showing his self portraits which represent the emotive key stages in his life.  Paul states:  ‘We all paint ourselves in one way or another, but the images are not necessarily of us.  Introspection is a necessary process not to be confused with narcissism.  Also being conscious of my own mortality, self-portraits leave a reference behind, more lasting than photographs in a cupboard.  Added to this, with self-portraiture you choose your own narrative, you’re unrestricted by someone else’s constraints’.

Paul draws inspiration from his own personal experiences and artistically utilizes these to paint in his own unique style.  Through his oil on canvas paintings, he hopes to engage the viewer in his own personal experiences and through his art work takes us through his fascinating life journey.

Along with the exhibition, The Naked Eye Gallery is hosting the official unveiling of the first commissioned Mayoral Portrait in 30 years of the current Mayor of Brighton and Hove, The Right Worshipful The Mayor, Councillor Denise Cobb by Paul Tash Ostrer.

Naked Eye invites you to a private viewing of Paul’s work and the unveiling of the Mayoral Portrait on January 17th 2014 7pm-10pm at The Naked Eye Gallery, Farm Mews, Farm Road, Hove, BN3 1GH.  If you are unable to attend this evening but would still like to see Paul’s work, his exhibition commences from the 18th January to the 31st January 2014.
